This song has this familiar feeling to it when you hear it first time, but its a proper Gorillaz song. Gorillaz never died, some songs were liked more some were less but Gorillaz are always trying new posibilites and sounds that simply fits their songs. People need to realize that no song is a like for the Gorillaz band and they never really had their own theme.

My brain went crazy when I saw someone post the live version from a concert. The studio version just multiplied my hype for static channel by 1000!!!!!!!!

When I first heard this song, I thought Thundercat was saying “from Africa” instead of “forever cult” and 2D was saying “They thought themselves to be a cow” instead of “They taught themselves to a cult”.

Literally been listening to this band since I was 5 yeas old, and they are still coming out with music years later

I think part of it is that they tend to mix and integrate elements from different genres. No matter what you like it has something that will speak to you woven into the tapestry of the song.

I remember when I was a kid and my dad introduced me to Gorillaz through the song Clint Eastwood (and I instantly fell in love with it).. it's so crazy that you still make music and that it still sounds great! From what I've read, Cracker Island refers to England. It may speak on some cults that are lesser known than American ones, but are not any less strange. I also think there may be references to more American cults like Jonestown (Russell had a shirt on that showed pouring a kool-aid substance into a brain that said "Just doing our job")

Okay, long post aheaaad!! I'd just like to thank Gorillaz... They're music is awesome, they're style is awesome, they drew the line between reality and animation in the music industry being an animated band. They're just different in every way possible. Speaking of animation, I'm glad the makers didn't somehow "perfect" their features. Truly, I'm glad. I've been so insecure of my looks and when I looked up to Gorillaz's members, I realized they have their own imperfections by looks too... I've been meaning to change something about me and my looks, but the only thing I needed to change was my perspective. Like the band members, I've got a strange nose shape that everyone in my family has been bullying me of, now I don't care about their insults! Also like the band members, my teeth's all messed up... Seeing their teeth, I realized it's really okay to not have perfect teeth but still keep up w/ hygiene ofc hehe. I once got caught up with Advil overdose and been keeping it cause ppl may think I've got a crack in my head, then 2D comes in saying he likes painkillers... It's a different thing yes, but quite the same concept ig? Haha Overall, Gorillaz is still one of the hottest bands around, the most precious one too! Different at best!

It's crazy how the first time I listened to gorillaz was in a car trip, my dad put the first album on the mp3 player, I was 4 years and instantly became my favorite band (the clips were sick af for a 4 yo girl, and still is for me at 24yo)

In my opinion, 2001-2012 was the best era for Gorillaz this is still really good

It's always a good day when Gorillaz puts out a song.

I've been a Gorillaz fan since the begin and I'm proud to say they've have never disappointed me. Everything from the beats, the lyrics, and even the artists they featuring everything is a masterpiece every time. Thank Gorillaz you guys are the best

@@1uriel Sure, but there’s a lot of crossover with house. Most “electro pop” songs I hear nowadays are either house or synthpop. It’s a pretty loosely defined genre these days.
